Gotta have goals... something to strive for, something measurable, and rewards to go along with them. I tend to think, think, think, but don't write these things down, but I know it's important to do.
So, I broke down my goals into 2 areas: Eat right and Exercise. Here are my goals and rewards:
Eat Right
Week 1: Stop drinking Sprite (and any other sodas) * this goal does not count towards rewards
Week 1-52: Write down everything consumed each day * this goal does not count towards rewards
Week 2-52: NO eating out (pack lunch for work every day)
Exercise
Week 1-3: Do 30 min workout 3x per week
Week 4-8: Do 30 min workout 4x per week
Week 9-22: Do 30 min workout 5x per week
Week 23-52: Do 30 min workout 6x per week
They may seem easy enough, but let me tell ya... as soon as you try to deny yourself something... that's all you can think about. Well that's how I am anyway.
Ok... rewards. For each week that I meet my exercise and eat right goals I am rewarding myself with a $5 addition to a WM gift card. Seems like chump change, but money will add up, and I'll be able to buy myself something fun... like a Nintento Wii. Yes I know it's not conducive to weight loss, but it's something fun and it's something I wouldn't allow myself to purchase any other way. But I can change my mind (a woman's right) when I finally get to spend that money.
Oh yeah one other thing... I can't use the gift card until I get halfway to my ultimate goal (somewhere around 130-140). But my halfway goal is 175!
