Ugh... I gained 2 lbs this week. Probably could have been worse though...
My last post said I was doing good, but starting a few days after that I started on a downward spiral with regards to my weight loss. Actually it probably started before that, but since I was still losing weight I did not make it into a big issue.
Weeks 3-5 I made both my goals (1. eating out only once per week & 2. working out). Weeks 6-7 I made my workout goal but did not make my eating out goal. Since I was upset at myself for the extra meal eaten out each of those weeks, I punished myself and did not reward myself even for the exercising. I'm not sure if I should do that. What do you think? Since the goals were separate, and I originally planned to reward myself if I made only one of the weekly goals, is it fair for me to punish myself? Is that what lead to my going crazy with the food now? Probably not, but who knows.
Weeks 8-9 I have been eating out like it's going out of style, and I have not been exercising. Do you want to hear my excuses for that... well here it goes anyway.
Week 8 I was stressed because we had some company stay about 4 days. I'm a person of routine and when someone messes it up, I get irritated and can't function like I normally would. That Tuesday (2-19) was a beautiful day, and I did go walking right after I left work. Wednesday night was when the company came and with them they brought rain and cold weather.
And I've been eating all the bad stuff I've been missing. Physically all the food makes me feel horrible. Even if I wanted to work out, I don't think I would last long because I just have so much food in me, I feel like I'd throw up if I had to do anything physical.
Today I once again treated myself to mexican (my favorite) and I have some ice cream, but tomorrow I vow to myself to get back on track. I finally found my WW points calculator and I'm going to strictly watch my points. Week 9 started my exercise goal of working out 5x per week so I hope the weather gets better, so I can start walking the track right after work.
I can do this!
I will do this!
I must do this!

B: 2 scrambled eggs (1 whole, 1 white)
S: granola bar, 3 caramel hershey kisses
D: (out to eat) chips & salsa, few bites of chili relleno, few bites of rice, taco
Exercise: 2.5 miles walk at track
I had been looking forward to my one meal out this week, and all I wanted was my favorite restaurant (a mexican place). I dragged some people who really didn't want to go there, and it was the most awful experience ever. I've been places with friends where their meal just is never right, but thankfully I'm usually good.
This time however it was my turn. First we get this waitress (her 2nd week we later learn) who is rude and sarcastic. She hands a hot plate to one girl to pass to another. Hello!... isn't that the first thing you learn at mexican restaurant school... let the person know it's a hot plate! Ugh. Then she asks us what we want to drink all the while digging around in her apron for a pen. She finally finds it and we have to start the order all over.
We finally get our drinks (after she forgets someone's drink), then we get our food. Here's the thing most everyone ordered chicken as their protein choice for their chimichangas, burritos, etc, but "chicken" never came out of my mouth... and what do i get... everything with chicken. I'm so upset at this point (mostly because of her attitude) that I'm not really hungry anymore. I do get a new plate of food, but now it's drowning in cheese sauce.
Needless to say I didn't eat much of it... maybe that was a good thing for my waist line, but I was so looking forward to that meal and it was ruined!

I'm going to do this, but today wasn't the day.
Probably wouldn't have been so bad if I wasn't upset and angry with so many people. Why does it seem like everyone makes you mad at the same time. To be quite honest this isn't a good time for and I'm taking it out on food. For those of you who don't know my Mom passed away on Jan 6, 2007. So this is the one year anniversary... is that even the word used? I'm certainly not celebrating the fact, but it just brings back all the memories and feelings for that time. And it hurts so bad to know I can't just pick up the phone and call her. I really should stop this... I'm gonna start crying all over again.
It shouldn't be an excuse for my bad behavior, but I guess that's just the way I'm dealing with things at the moment.
Also looks like I won't make my 3x per week exercise goal. But I'm not out of the game (even though it just started). I just need to get passed this weekend or figure out another way to deal with my frustrations.
Breakfast: frosted mini wheat cereal
Snacks: 2 frozen waffles, milk, Sprite, doritos
Supper: (cheddar's) chicken fried steak, mashed potatos, green beans, chips w/salsa & queso
