I'm still here, not really doing the necessary steps to actually lose weight continually. I am currently at 217 (really as of my last weigh in) which is 9 pounds down from when Jen and I started this cycle.
My birthday is coming up at the end of May, and I wanted to be 175 lbs, but I won't even be close. I think I need to make a new goal since it's quite pointless to be striving for that goal. How about if I make it a goal to be 200 by May 31, 2008. That will be a 17 lb weight loss, but I think that's possible and healthy to do in two months!
I just came up with that as I started writing this entry, but I like that goal!

Week 9 & Monthly (Feb) Update
Ugh... I gained 2 lbs this week. Probably could have been worse though...
My last post said I was doing good, but starting a few days after that I started on a downward spiral with regards to my weight loss. Actually it probably started before that, but since I was still losing weight I did not make it into a big issue.
Weeks 3-5 I made both my goals (1. eating out only once per week & 2. working out). Weeks 6-7 I made my workout goal but did not make my eating out goal. Since I was upset at myself for the extra meal eaten out each of those weeks, I punished myself and did not reward myself even for the exercising. I'm not sure if I should do that. What do you think? Since the goals were separate, and I originally planned to reward myself if I made only one of the weekly goals, is it fair for me to punish myself? Is that what lead to my going crazy with the food now? Probably not, but who knows.
Weeks 8-9 I have been eating out like it's going out of style, and I have not been exercising. Do you want to hear my excuses for that... well here it goes anyway.
Week 8 I was stressed because we had some company stay about 4 days. I'm a person of routine and when someone messes it up, I get irritated and can't function like I normally would. That Tuesday (2-19) was a beautiful day, and I did go walking right after I left work. Wednesday night was when the company came and with them they brought rain and cold weather.
And I've been eating all the bad stuff I've been missing. Physically all the food makes me feel horrible. Even if I wanted to work out, I don't think I would last long because I just have so much food in me, I feel like I'd throw up if I had to do anything physical.
Today I once again treated myself to mexican (my favorite) and I have some ice cream, but tomorrow I vow to myself to get back on track. I finally found my WW points calculator and I'm going to strictly watch my points. Week 9 started my exercise goal of working out 5x per week so I hope the weather gets better, so I can start walking the track right after work.
I can do this!
I will do this!
I must do this!

New Short Term Goals
A girl needs motivation to lose weight... obviously just to be healthy and fit into some size 10 jeans doesn't quite do the job.
A few years ago my friend Jen and some friends decided to create a Diet Challenge to help us motivate each other. It went well in the beginning, Jen started having success with Weight Watchers, so I started WW because I couldn't let her beat me. Unfortunately once my time ended and when my mother passed away (one year ago), I gained all the weight I lost.
Since quite honestly Jen and I were the main participants, we just decided to once again try to compete only with each other.
Our short term goals and rewards:
10% weight loss = $10 gift card from WM
20% weight loss - $25 gift card from WM
So, the first of each of us to reach each goal will win the prize given by the "loser" (or really the one who didn't lose enough).

Week 3 Update
I told myself I wouldn't do this but I did it anyway... I weighed myself on a non weigh-in day. Luckily the number was good. 221 to be exact which is 3 pounds less than my last weigh-in three days ago. That's probably a bit misleading though because like I said on my last weigh-in, I had my weekly allowed "out to eat" meal the night before, so today was probably just all that getting out of my system.
So last week ending 1-19-08, I met both my weekly goals.
1. No more than one meal eaten out
2. Exercise 30 mins 3x
So overall my week 3 was pretty good. The first two weeks went horribly, but I'm back!
My exercise goal for the next three weeks has been increase to 30 mins 4x each week! Yikes! I just got the 3x down... but I know it will only help to increase the weight loss and the getting fit!

MIA
I know I have been Missing in Action for the past week. Last Sunday I went to visit my sister, and all we did was eat. Then I got a cold or something and haven't felt well.
But today I plan on being back on track. I think I'm going to change my goal from no eating out to eating out at most once per week. When I was doing WW, I allowed myself to eat out once per week and I still lost weight. Eventually I want to stop eating out all together but for once is enough.
So I'm back! I have taken some pics, but I don't know how I feel about putting them on the internet. Yikes! We'll see how it goes.

Goals
Gotta have goals... something to strive for, something measurable, and rewards to go along with them. I tend to think, think, think, but don't write these things down, but I know it's important to do.
So, I broke down my goals into 2 areas: Eat right and Exercise. Here are my goals and rewards:
Eat Right
Week 1: Stop drinking Sprite (and any other sodas) * this goal does not count towards rewards
Week 1-52: Write down everything consumed each day * this goal does not count towards rewards
Week 2-52: NO eating out (pack lunch for work every day)
Exercise
Week 1-3: Do 30 min workout 3x per week
Week 4-8: Do 30 min workout 4x per week
Week 9-22: Do 30 min workout 5x per week
Week 23-52: Do 30 min workout 6x per week
They may seem easy enough, but let me tell ya... as soon as you try to deny yourself something... that's all you can think about. Well that's how I am anyway.
Ok... rewards. For each week that I meet my exercise and eat right goals I am rewarding myself with a $5 addition to a WM gift card. Seems like chump change, but money will add up, and I'll be able to buy myself something fun... like a Nintento Wii. Yes I know it's not conducive to weight loss, but it's something fun and it's something I wouldn't allow myself to purchase any other way. But I can change my mind (a woman's right) when I finally get to spend that money.
Oh yeah one other thing... I can't use the gift card until I get halfway to my ultimate goal (somewhere around 130-140). But my halfway goal is 175!
